So I've been working on some cards for my Holiday Hoopla Classes... but as usual I keep thinking.. Oh! I should CASE this one... and then oh! Sorry crafting peeps/followers... I've had no mojo the last little while... it's 100% explainable... my brain is fried and in need of quality sleep. Even as I type this I can hear my little guy (10wks old today) rousing from his sleep... So I'll make this quick!!!

I made a card a few weeks back that I CASED from Laurie?.. I tweaked it a little bit so it was more "me".. plus I didn't have the smaller scallop die for the Big Shot so I just 'winged it!' This card was made for my sister in law for her birthday on Sept 6th (labour day weekend here in Canada).

Enjoy! Oh! BTW...I should hopefully post again this week seems my hubby is outta town so the nights are little lonely and I can multi-task between the MAC and the my craft desk and the TV/PVR ;} without complaints that I'm hogging all the 'toys'.

Besides... how could I resist this little guy...

Sassy Card for someone special..

I made this card in early June after a co-worker of mine lost her teen sister.... it was so sad...and quite sudden. I don't deal with death very well seems I'm quite an emotional gal...but I have had a few people close to me pass away and the one thing I've learnt is that know matter what the age or how they passed away... you should always celebrate their life. When I first moved to Canada 14yrs ago I had to fly back to Ireland to my grandad's funeral/wake... it was a sad day...but after the burial we all went to the pub and cracked jokes & told stories. Afterwards I thought this was a wonderful way to help with the healing process.....definitely the way I want people to remember me. Hopefully my scrapbooks are also a few ways to remember me ;} I've done a few ;P

OK... back to the card. This is my favourite pink - Melon Mambo

All of the products are SU! except for the zebra paper which I picked up at the big box store.

Can you see I 'rock & rolled' the ink on the flower to get the edgy look...cool huh!

Ok... off to place my SU! Christmas mini order... I've spent the last few days umm-ing & ahhh-ing and not hitting the submit button. Tonight is the night!!!

Something new....

Sorry I've been missing in action for a while.... but with the tail end of the pregnancy near and a week in the hospital I can officially say i'm back ;} and I have a new addition to my world. Another guy who makes my heart melt....

This is my little guy Owen... only 6 days old in this photo... chilling beside the pool at his nanny's house while celebrating my 35th birthday. I don't think he will remember it... but I know I will. All I wanted for my birthday was my family around me... my wish came true!!! Big sister Eryn is loving her new brother...she's proud as punch in this photo.

So... I've been busy with my little munchkins these last 2 weeks... but hoping I can start crafting again soon especially since my carpel tunnel has now gone :)

Oh! but I do have a card I created a while back for a friend to post so I'll post that by the weekend. Anyway... gotta run and try and put in my pre-SU! Christmas order in so I have something to play with next week ;} it's going to be hard sticking to a budget.

So... the countdown is on... I have 2wks left before my little guy arrives!!!! I went to see the High Risk Dr again the other day and he said he won't let me go past 38wks... I'm now 36wks 5days... Whooo!!! Did I tell you i'm not that patient? I'm not... :( I can't wait to meet this little guy... In the meantime... I should probably finish off my house cleaning/carpets & purging I've managed to do over the last few months! Not long now...

OK...Seems today is Canada Day I figured I would post a Thanks! card I made for my aunt/friend Julie in Northern Ireland. You see...since my daughter was born 3yrs ago, my aunt Julie has been sending me her lovely hand-me-downs from her 2 girls K-J & Emma... and unlike 'some' people I know ;) I'm not a snob!! I love hand-me-downs :P So as a token of my appreciation I made Julie a card and then when my mum was visiting the UK the other week i got her to pick me up a Gift Card from NEXT ( her fav shop) to say "Thanks"!!!!

As promised... here's a photo of the card I made for my mum's birthday last week. Infact it was a good thing I took a photo seems for some crazy reason my mum no longer has the card. It all started out badly...my mum decided to wear slippy sandals on her birthday... partly because it's sooo hot here in Ottawa right now... and partly seems we were meeting up after lunch for a quick afternoon spa/pedicure treatment. Anyway.... before the appt my mum managed to fall out of her Jeep straight to the floor and whacked her tailbone/hand and bit her tongue :( When I met my mum at the appt I couldn't believe she'd injured herself sooo badly on her Birthday. Anyway... to cut a long story short she read my card... and then put it on the spa chair. We managed to leave the spa..an hour later... by then my mum realised she'd left the card on the chair... we went back within 2hrs and the card and a pair of earrings inside were gone :( I'm really disappointed that no one was honest enough to hand in the card.... I'm more disappointed my mum didn't get to enjoy the card. Here's the card....

What's been going on with me? Well... I'm in the last few weeks of my pregnancy... hoping the little guy will be showing up within the next 3-4weeks... even though I technically have 7wks left (40 weeks). The countdown begins...

Being creative? Last night was the first time I've sat at my craft table in a while... I decided to make my mum's birthday card. I'm sure she'll like it... :) I like it. I just hope I remember to take a photo of it so I can post it here in the next little while.
Hmm... Lately all I can manage to do is go to work & sleep... I'm surprised I'm up this late blogging :) I totally promise that by end of July/ August i'll get back to my usual blogging/crafting. It's so hard working full-time and trying to craft at the same time. I thankfully finish work at the end of June...if I last that long ;). I'm already swollen all over and not getting more than 2hrs of sleep at a time. Talking of sleep... I think it's time for me to go to bed...

BTW... here's a picture of something I did at my Spring fling class.... simple, fresh & really easy!!! I did an array of colours/animals.... great cards for kiddies birthdays!

Just a quick note to say I've been working on some cards that will I will be doing classes on in a few weeks. I wanted to do a 6 card class (1 Mothers Day, 1 Fathers Day, 3 Birthday's and 1 Breast Cancer Card). Seems Mothers day in Canada is on May 8th... I will be sneaking in the classes before then ;) If you want to do 2 Mothers day cards instead of the BC card... not a problem.

Anyway... the dates to look forward to are the following...

Friday 29th April or Friday May 6th - after 6pm

Something scrappy!

So I've quickly taken a few photos of some of the scrapbook pages I've done recently. So far I've managed to churn out around 10 in the last 3 weeks. It helps that a friend of mine has now booked a community centre for us to use all day 1 weekend a month. I'm not sure I can post all my pages seems I've not used solely SU! stuff...

Below is 2 pages I created using the Simply Scrappin Kit from 2009. I've been meaning to try and use them... but I'm sometimes a little silly... I want to 'save' my favourite stuff ;} You know how it is right? I have alot of pretty papers and stickers that my husband teases me he's going to use when I'm not looking. I'm very protective of my scrapping stuff.

Anyway... without long adue! and because Jo asked ;} Here is my photos of my 2 page album. I will take more... and I might even re-take these ones seems the photos don't do the pages any justice. The problem is I take the photos at the end of the night...so I need to take them in daylight to get a better picture.

If you live locally... contact me and I tell you more about the local hall set-up. The more ladies the merrier... we're trying to start a movement ;} plus commit to scrapping once a month. I know it gets my mojo going..saying that I've not done a thing for 5 days... I've been struggling with constant hunger/sickness!!! Tonight I think I'm going to surf the web looking for ideas & inspiration...

Ok... so maybe I wasn't back..

So... as usual life took over at the end of last year... I was working on "me"... I know this may seem weird to some people but I have trouble in putting myself first. After some good therapy! ;} I finally starting asking myself why I do the things I do.. I've been a people pleaser since I can remember. So... with my changes with me... I managed to upset/disappoint a few people in my life. I suppose gaining a backbone means I have to test it right? October, November and December was pretty tough for me...plus a little liberating for not being such a walk over. Thankfully I have a great hubby who supports me in finding the real me. Don't get me wrong...I wavered..but in the end I know I need to start putting myself first.

Anyway... enough about that mushy stuff ;} What else have I been upto? Well...after my Christmas card making classes in December I packed up all my stamps so I can spend a little time on my #1 passion - scrapbooking! So far I've managed to whip together 3-4pages :) I'm extremely happy. I might post 1or2 on this blog sometime this week. I design my pages around the photos so I don't always use all SU! stuff. Before I started SU! I had a extensive collection of stickers/papers so I'm slowly using some of that on my daughters album. Can't wait to post some more photos of the cards I made for my classes... Below is the most popular one that I CASED and changed a little from someone else's blog (don't remember her name no watermark on photo).

Oh! yes... and one last update.....I'm pregnant with baby#2 - just 3mths ;) I can't wait..... Eryn will be a big sister soon!!! I know she'll do a wonderful job!

I know, I know...I've been off the blog 'grid' for a while now... I've been busy hosting classes at work and home.... prepping for a Christmas Craft sale at work early December, while also managing life's up's & down's. I have sooo much to share with you I may have to do it over a few posts.

Secondly... I've successfully put up my main tree in my house. I know, I know it's early but I had a friend come over with her sister and take some family holiday photos. How did it go? Well... have you tried to get a 2yr old to sit still for photos... hehehe....it was ok...but I also had low expectations.... I'm happy with the outcome. Next year will be better right? 3yrs olds are easier?? Check out the SU! Holiday Advent Calendar - cool little take-out boxes :) full of goodies. Can't wait till Dec 1st...

Ok.. back to some card-making. I was going posts some photos of my creations the other night but my new camera battery decided to die on me after 2 photos. I think I'm going to have to make myself a light box seems I'm not liking the orange tinge to my photos...

Simple but Chic!

So I was out last night meeting with other SU! demos doing a shoebox swap. The aim of the night is to make 10 demo cards so you can use them in your card-making classes. In return you have to create a demo card that can be put together within 5mins or less - duplicate 10 times and bring to the event for 10 demos to create your card. Anyway... this is my simple but chic card I made.

I love, love, love how simple it is to create this bunched ribbon look.... it's sooo easy... and you don't even need to use a needle & thread. Did I tell you I was terrible in home ec when I was at school. I barely sew a button on a shirt... I'd rather throw away the shirt and buy a new one ;P

This is another card I made the other night.... again.. simple...good for a beginner papercrafter.

Anyway...I've gotta hit the craft table... I finally published my lunch-time classes at work...so now I have to create more samples for my classes.

As promised... here is some more cards I've made over the last few weekends... These 2 are similar to ones I've done on my blog..just slightly 'tweaked'. I decided on the weekend that some of my favourite creations I've always managed to give them away as b-day cards to friends & family. So my samples in the last 6mths have not changed. So.. I CASED my own cards and improved them slightly ;} Whatta think?

On this card I added the new texture plate on the main cardstock (Marina mist) plus I used my new spritzer tool ...I love it!!!!

This one is similar to the card I gave my mum back in June... slightly different..

Do you like my new punch? It's not really a new one...just one that's been 'edited' I like how it works/mattes with the slot punch..

Gotta go now... I'm still tired from last nights late night... ciao!

Slight change in my blog...

If your reading this from google reader you won't see the change... but if your checking out my blog...don't worry... I'm playing with templates/backgrounds. I went on my blog a few times tonight and noticed the background was all weird... anyway.. seems I couldn't sleep tonight I decided to check out why my blog was all messy-looking. Anyway... it turns out my 'free' blog template provider Leelou has moved all of her designs to another location. So....I decided to snoop around and try and find a better blog template....I really want a template with my fav colour red! ;) For now this one will do... I wish I could design my own template... I wish I could play all day in adobe ;) I really need to take a course or something. Maybe I'll look that up for the fall classes.... I may also need to do a course in using my new camera. My hubby may suggest I RTFM :) in other words....read the pdf/manual on how to operate it... nah!!! ppfttt!!!

Anyway... I made some more progress this weekend on some more cards... I still have to take good photos of them before I can post... I managed to churn out another 3 on Saturday night... I was very impressed with myself. I've been finding lately that I'm getting a little overwhelmed with all the products and styles of card-making out there in the blog world that I forget to use my taste/design. So.. on Saturday I managed to leave my ITouch (I use my IT to download my fav cards that I might CASE) upstairs and create 3 cards all on my own...my way/style. I'm so excited to show you. I haven't quite decided which one is going to be used at the upcoming Shoebox swap on Wednesday this week. I'd better make up my mind quick..seems I've got to crop for 10 people.Ekkkk!!

Urgh!! I suppose I'd better hit the hay...seems it's work tomorrow.

Here's one of those crazy cards I was up late creating on Friday night... I was so happy with this card I made another one but changed it slightly with an embossing plate...I'll show you that in the next day or so.. Anyway.. I originally created this card for my sister-in-laws birthday which was on Monday. I didn't have Marina Mist in an ink...so I used the marker and versamark and clear embossing powder..plus a little bit of Tempting Turquoise ink.. I love how it turned out ;) don't you!!

So I've been busy this past weekend making & creating......in total I made 6 cards.. I was on a crafty roll ;}

Firstly I made this card for my daughters little buddy Thatcher who was turning 3!... After I made it... I wondered whether I had already done the exact card for him the year before...did I Shan? I don't have many little boy stamps...so I kept it simple & bright. PLus... it's so nice to go back to the basics and just doodle/colour with my Stampin Up Markers!!

So.... here is the other card I made for my little neice Isabella... I contacted my s-i-l Jess and she confirmed the theme for Bellas 1st Birthday. She even sent me a sample of Bella's invitation. I'm back from my Va-ca...or as the brits say.. holidays.

So... I'm back from my girls "Va-ca" in California. Wow! It was a blast....and it felt good to have some "me" time. I must say I'm a little pooped...seems I crammed alot of things to see & do while I was there...but also came down the cold my hubby & little gal had :( Thankfully I had good roomies (M&J) who smartly packed ear-plugs ;).... I swear!!! I normally don't snore... but because of my cold I sounded like a fog-horn!!! Urgh! yucky! my voice is still croaky...but the yuckiness/mess has now gone. Here's a photo of me in my wedding attire...feeling very chilled like a Californian.

Anyway... seems I'm back from the California wedding of my 2 friends Iggy & Roe... I can share with you the card I created for their wedding. It was themed on Roe's beautiful design of chocolate chip brown and crushed curry yellow (now retired). What do you think? The couple were very impressed when I told them I punched every little hole in the cardstock :)

Sharing my Swaps

Just a quickie seems I've got to hit the 'hay'...it's been a long day... both hubby & Eryn are sick :{ So I was the only one at work today. Thankfully my hubby prepped dinner so it was a easy night once I got home. Then I stayed up late to watch the Semi final world cup footie game... Incase I spoil it for some of you... I'll just say... the team I wanted to win... won! yeah!

Anyway... back to my quick post. Here's another photo or two of one of the swaps I rec'd a few weeks back. I never thought I'd like the new DSP paper but it's starting to grow on me. As you can probably tell.. I was drawn to the sparkle of the card. It was misted with the shimmer paint. I love love love this shimmer paint.....!!! You will now see it in the new catty.. Today is the new cattys 'go live' day!! Check out the links on the sidebar. Hmmm...me thinks today my cc will do some damage! :} I did decide instead of going crazy I would tag up my catty and only allow myself 5-10 things.. Wow! is it hard... I normally just focus on the accessories..but this year I'm drawn to the stamps too. So... what's my plan of action? I'm going to try and order a new Christmas stamp set plus a new Birthday one, plus new paper and maybe some more bling!! Hopefully it'll be something refreshing for my card class I'm preparing for in Sept. Wanna attend... contact me.

So.. as mentioned in my other post I attended a SU! event last weekend...and I managed to partipate in 2 swaps... The first one was a card swap and the other a 12x12 scrapbook page swap. Below is my Fav Card swap of the day!! Made by my close friend/sister Jo-Ann... isn't it wonderful... she's such a gem!

Here's a silly photo of Jo-Ann, Lisa & myself on the way home...slurping back on a nice big ice cream!!! Yummy!! I can honestly say the company was the best, we giggled alot!! and I think we will be 'roadtrip mates' for a longtime to come. When's the next trip?

Anyway.. gotta go... very tired... this single parent thing for the week whilst working fulltime is hard!!!! My hat off to you lovely ladies in the world who do this fulltime.

I wish.. I wish I had more time to craft these days.... I went back to work fulltime over 2 weeks ago (since my last post) and I have been sooo exhausted after work seems I'm trying to get myself, hubby & little Eryn off to daycare in the mornings..work, work...then pick up everyone... home for dinner.. babe goes to bed.. then phew! Tired!!! Plus last week I was prepping to attend a stamping retreat over at Kim's house. Wow!oh! Wow! I had a blast at the all day event....learning 24 new techniques.. maybe I'll try a few out with you. I decided to enter for 2 swaps.... a 12x12 page swap and a card swap. My 12x12 page was easy seems I made the 'Summer fun' page below.... everyone seemed really happy to receive it. I then joined a card swap...but silly me left the design and making till the last night....and guess what happened?? My heat emboss gun died on me :{ half way thru my cards... this was BAD!!! seems my entire card was mainly embossing. Argghhh!!! anyway... I'm a trooper.. I managed to prep everything...and during my lunch break I decided to borrow a gun and finish them off. Thankfully I had a little bunch of elves at the end helping me (Thanks Jo-Ann, Cate & Lisa)...Phew! again... done... and again... everyone seem to ohhh! over my design.. yeah!!!

I suppose this could be a wedding invite eh? very swish!!

Anyway.. just thought I'd show you some photos over the next day or so of the swaps and ideas I picked up at the event.

The Power of pretty paper....

I had a friend who attended my scrapbook event yesterday afternoon that couldn't really see herself using the tropical party papers and flowers. So... I told her to attend anyway and I would switch out the paper to something else. Well...after some digging thru my retired paper stock on the weekend i found one of my favourite paper packs...Parisan Breeze. Check out what we did below...it was the same sketch/page map...just different papers. WOW!! Love it..!!... that's what i call the power of pretty paper!!

Some people are paper addicts... I love paper... but my biggest weakness is stickers ;} I'll have to take a photo of my bulging Crop In Style Binders full!!!! You'll laugh... it's a sad, sad addiction... is there any other sticker addicts out there reading my blog! LMK!..I'd like to know I'm not alone.

So... what have I been doing this last week or two... I've been getting myself ready to join the big wide world of working again. Since having my little gal I've been off work... with a 1yr maternity leave..then I got laid off when I returned which was perfect at the time. Then... recently I've been looking for work again seems I think I need the daily adult/social interaction.... lucky for me my old company needed someone to replace for a year maternity...and I was the best option ;} It works out for me seems I get to see if I really did miss work... or just thought the grass was always greener. Anyway... my erratic blogging may get worst before it gets better...seems I start next week. Wish me luck!!

Oh! and BTW... my lovely hubby fixed my camera ;{ doh! so I'm not sure I'm upgrading yet. We'll see....

Pretty in Pink!!

I spent most of last night creating my mum's birthday card for today. I'm really happy with the end result.... sadly I couldn't come up with my own creation seems I think I either have allergies or a cold coming on :{ I think it's a cold... but with the Canadian weather and our blow-air heating/cooling system I may have developed allergies. I miss having a radiators in the room. That's the only downside to living in Canada... forced air ..... I find everyone I know has allergies now... it's got to be all this air being re-circulated (kinda like a plane environment).

Anyway... back to my card...I CASED it from my favourite SU! Online lady Mary Fish... I did change it a little with adding a little bling instead of a corduroy button. What do you think? Pretty eh?

My mum called me a cheeky bugger for putting her age on the card...I thought it was very sleek! and sparkly! Plus I think she should be proud of her age seems she has 2 children in their 30's...plus 3 Grandkids..not bad for a 55 year young mum eh? I love having a young mum ;}

Anyhow... hopefully I'll show off my scrapbook pages soon... seems I've done alot. Oh! BTW... Did I tell you I don't have a proper camera at the moment.... :{ my Sony Cybershot officially died last week while I was attending a baby shower :{ RIP Sony!...

Hehehe...Now I get to cruise the web for my next toy!!!! Any recommendations??? watch this space!!!!!!

I have a thing lately.... it's a colour fascination thingy... I love mixing pinks with browns with aqua blues... I'm not sure why... but I can't stop the colour combo. HELP!! Here's another birthday card I made a month or so ago for a close brit friend... Jules ;} I dabbed on a little shimmer paint to add some bling... you know me.. I tried to hold off on the glitter....but if you look closely you'll notice I sprinkled a little dazzling diamonds on the mini butterfly!

Happy Mothers Day!!

Since moving to Canada in 1997 I celebrate Mothers Day on a different day now. I think in the UK they celebrate it in March... and in Canada/North America we celebrated it today in May. As usual I was tasked to make 2 Mothers Day cards... Here's one of them... the other is similar just different ribbon. I hope both the mums like them... it took a few hours to create seems I was 'playing' with the colours and the new Big Shot die from Stampin Up! Tropical Party. Don't you just loooove the colours.... it's crazy to believe but today it started to snow again :{ Hopefully the card will make you feel warmer ;}

Scrapbooking Fun, Birthday Fun

I had a busy weekend this weekend.. I attended the annual Breast Cancer All Day Scrapbook event on Saturday. I prepped weeks in advance to make sure I could finish pages (mapped my pages, ordered prints). You see...It seems every-time I attend these all day events I get distracted looking at other peoples pages, shopping and I never manage to get any pages done :{ this time was different. I managed to get 6 pages completed... and 2 pages created... I just need to add the photos. I'll take photos shortly to let you see the finished look. The only downside is not everything I used is SU! seems I had brought all the scrapbook stuff before I became a demo. Anyway... I'll post them soon... hopefully in better light.

On Sunday I spent the day out in the countryside of Constance Bay attending a 2yr old's birthday party. Here's the card I made for little Samuel ;} Cute huh! I CASED this from a demo... she had used pastels... I went for the bright bold colours...

Did you see the spots on the present is a little raised... I did that using Stampin Up! Crystal Effects.

So I've been working on a few scrapbook pages over the last few weeks. I've been finding it a little hard to limit myself to only SU! supplies. The only reason for this is because I have been an avid scrapbooker for many years... and that means I have tons and I mean tons of stickers, punches or stamp sets to help complete my pages. Anyway... I managed to complete a few... here's a few I whipped up this week! Just in time for National Scrapbooking Month!

This time I decided to use the Simply Scrapping kit 'Love Sparkles' for a few cute pages ;}

Did you notice I used the Big Shot to cut out the letters/title and then I ran the letters through the Big Shot again with the polka dot embossing folder.

So last week was busy.. I was preparing for a kids consignment sale so I was up to my eye balls in baby clothes/items. What! I hear your say... no more cuties like Eryn ;} No, No...We haven't decided on stopping on 1...but we're in limbo at the moment... and seems I have loads of generous friends & family I had way too much stuff. I know what people mean when they say babies can take over the house... and seems I'm a little OCD in regards to keeping the house clutter free I finally decided to sell some stuff that I wasn't so keen on. Anyway... the long & the short of it... I didn't craft much last week. I did order tons of photos over the weekend..seems I have a scrapbook fundraiser to attend this weekend (as mentioned in the blog below). I've done a few pages...and I'm hoping to finish 'tweaking' them tonight... and hopefully I can post the photos within the next few days :} so watch this space.

Talking of scrapbooking fun!.... May is National Scrapbooking Month. Personally I think this is another Hallmark Holiday but I'm not complaining... any excuse to scrapbook is ok with me ;} I'm planning on doing 4 pages for an upcoming class that I'm planning on hosting at the end of May.

Breast Cancer Fundraiser Scrapbook Page...

Last summer I volunteered to help out a fellow SU! demo lady Tash for a Breast Cancer fundraiser. I had only been a demo for 4 months and was super keen to meet other demos and pretty much 'play' with all of the pretty stuff SU ! has to offer. As most of you know scrapbooking & photography is my #1 passion.. So.. I eagerly signed myself up to do a mini class for anyone interested in doing a scrapbook page or two. Well... the thing I didn't realise is that I'm a great scrapbooker at heart... but I don't think with my head ;} I was reminded of this after my first class at this local fundraiser by a lovely demo called Linda. Ah Linda!!... if you could meet her you would fall in love with her straight away. I remember meeting her for the first time at this event... only because she stumbled in late (just like me) to the event, laughing and chatting away with her friend Cynthia. Anyway..long story short she ended up sitting at my table and we chatted and giggled about how much cr*p you can bring to a scrapbook event, how small the table spaces were, etc, etc. Once we were all unpacked we posted our projects on a board for people to sign up to attend your class. My class was pretty popular... I had 6 people attend which was fabulous! But I was extremely nervous seems it was my first class.... but the lovely Linda put me at ease and kept praising my work and she couldn't believe I had managed to do all the cropping/work under budget. Budget? what budget I ask? At this point Linda asked if I had ordered all the supplies from the bulk list..otherwise I would of had to purchase a few of the scrapbooking kits to create these wonderful pages! Hmm.. at that point I just whistled and murmured something under my breath...about making it look "pretty". 'Oh! Sue' said Linda... were going to have to teach you some tricks of the trade my girl. That my folks... was my first lesson. Always try and use the bulk list items.. it saves on budget everytime. I say that now because I have lots of leftovers from the scrapbooking kits I used to make the pages and I didn't make any money from the class :{. Ahwell!! you learn something new everyday eh? Besides..the best thing that came from that event was meeting Linda...she will forever be my SU! Mum... she has such a lovely spirit.... all mumsy & warm. Thanks Linda... I bet you didn't realise what an impact you had on little ole me eh?

So.. here's a photo of my final page made using the Simply Scrapping Kit 'Best Ever'... it's now retired but I figured it was worth a post. Plus alot of the colours used on the page will be coming back in July (Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red) Yeah!!!. The photos I used was from Eryn's 1st birthday party... wow! so much had changed in the past year.

Oh! and this is a photo Linda took of Cynthia & I while standing on a chair looking down at us so we wouldn't have double chins ;} how thoughtful. Bless her!

This scrapbook page was a great surprise.. I attended a class held by another demo and I created this beautiful page... and I was very lucky to have a photo that suited the theme & colours. Seems I'm all about matching photos with colours/themes/papers.

Oh! and just incase your interested.. Tash is doing the 60km walk again this year along with my friend Miranda. Once again Tash is doing the all day scrapbook event on May 1st... and I will going along. Infact I'm prepping for it now...if your interested on going contact me or Tash for a space/details. Recently a new customer of mine Julie attended a class, she has already decided she wanted to organise her family photos and finish it with a lovely Decor Element saying. The question was do I put it on the wall or the photo-matting? Julie ended up putting it on the wall..Isn't it lovely?

Wow! don't you just love it.... such a simple idea... Why don't you do this with your precious photos!! it can be family, vacations, passions...even obscure photos you've taken over the years. I just love how using your own photos can create beautiful wall art... and to finish it off... a little Decor Element saying. Hmm.. now I need to do something like this..

Where have I been....?

I haven't gone on vacation or died... but I've been pretty rough this last week. I caught some tummy bug and I've spent the last week in bed or feeling sorry for myself ;} I'm still weak... seems anything I eat or drink doesn't stay in me long enough ;{ Hopefully I'll get my crafting mojo back next week.

For now... here's a few piccie's of my little one on a Easter Egg Hunt....different days at different Nanny & Nana's houses. I think they enjoy it more than we do ;} Nah! we all relive our childhood....right?

Just a quick post to say "Love what you do" ;} I know I do. Last week was crazy hectic in prep for my 2 full stamp n stack classes. I created a ton of cards... the idea is supposed to be simple. Create 4 designs and duplicate 3 times... everyone takes home 12 cards. Well... you know me. I can't do simple...plus I tend to change it up a little so people don't get bored with the same colours etc. Anyway... long story short... alot of cropping, prepping & designing went on last week. I even ran out of square envelopes. The good news was it was a huge success... I'll post some of the photos in the next week or so... I just wanted you know I'm still here stamping...or in my case this weekend scrapbooking ;}

For now.. I'll show you the card I made for a close friends 40th birthday I attended last weekend... yes! I stamped 2 days.. and scrapbooked a whole day Saturday. What a great idea!!! I finally got organised to scrapbook my daughters album. For now.. here's the card I made for my friend Cindy....using I Heart Hearts clear stamp set!! I love it already!!!! Once you go clear you never go back ;)

BTW.. the colours are chocolate chip, tempting turquoise & melon mambo... the camera can be deceiving

So...I will be hosting a Stamp 'n' Stack at my house. What's a Stamp 'n' Stack I hear you ask? Well.... I will have 4 designs of cards varying from Mothers Day, Birthdays and Thank You's. You will make 3 copies of each design. I will try to keep the cards simple but sleek/modern. At the end of the class you will take away 12 cards!!! for you to use/send to your friends & family. Stampin Up! Royalty!

I'm still on cloud nine.... I spent a wonderful evening at Stampin Up! event that one of demos had won in a recent SU! recruiting challenge. The prize was to have a Workshop of a Lifetime! the guest of honor was the co- founder & CEO of Stampin Up! Shelli ;} WOW!!! WOW! Kim won the challenge and I can see why.... At my first ever SU! demo event she offered me soooo much advice and had this air of warmth around her.... it's weird.. but I felt like I'm known her for years. Anyway... to keep this post quick... and to curb my excitement... I just had to show off my photo I managed to sneak in at the event tonight.

Yeap! that's me.... next to Shelli & her daughter Sara. Wow!! and guess what... I even had the courage to ask a question in the Q&A to Shelli. Shelli loved my question!!!! My question was " What Stamp/Set was the biggest surprise success?" Oh!!! I thought maybe the Medallion... but Shelli said she knew that was going to be a hit. What was her answer I hear you all asking me? Hmmm.... well..... She replied that the 'Dasher' stamp was the biggest surprise & hit with everyone.

Also... here's Kim! Isn't she friendly looking... and her family were gorgeous too!! What a awesome night we had...it never ceases to amaze me what a good family SU! is... It's the best compliment a company can have ;} I suppose that's why they came up with the saying "Love what you do" at convention. Hmm.. I wish I could go to convention this year... I jut found out it's the weekend of my birthday. Wouldn't that be a great gift ;] ;} hint hint!

And finally... here's my bessie Stampin Up! Demo Mate :} Jo-Ann or I sometimes like to think of her as my older sister...if I had one ;P

The one thing I love about SU! is I've made a bunch of friends...and I love crafting with them.

Turning 1!

Happy 1 Year!!! I'm guessing my blog has been around for a year now seems I signed up to Stampin Up! just over a year ago. So I figured the title was appropriate for 2 reasons. One for blog anniversary and secondly because my little girl Eryn was invited to her playdate buddy's 1 year old party this past weekend. I was excited to go.... I even made the b-day card in advance... but sadly on the morning of the party I had to sit in a Doctors office :{ The upside was seeing my hubby take his little gal in her party dress to the party... How cute is that?

Isn't she cute!! I couldn't get her to sit still for a good photo ;} ahwell... such is life with kids & animals eh?

Here's the card I made for the 1 year old party! so girlie eh? brown & pink!!!!

Can you see the sparkly glitter...and the Stampin Dimensionals I used for the mane! ;P

Organisation Cubes...

So... a while ago I was asked by another SU! Demo lady "Marie" if I minded my craft cube configuration photos could be posted on a Crafty Storage Blog. Of course I didn't mind :) ....my hubby always says I spend more time organising my crafts than actually doing crafts. I laugh it off... but really I know he's right on the money.

Here's my original post and here's a photo of my crafty storage space!

So.. I decided to take some more close ups of my set-up... just incase you were curious... plus I've found that since my photos appeared on the Crafty storage blog I've had lots of traffic from all over the world :P so why not add some more.

These red storage bins can be found at the large build it yourself Swedish store :} as you can see I can easily store my stamp sets in them. I only have one red box full...and as soon as it gets full I sell some of the stamps so I don't go crazy :} I also keep all of my stamp pads/inks in another red box... you can even use it to hang 12x12 file folders, I use mine on my desktop to hold all my 12x12 cardstock & DSP.

This cube space has a few of those magazine holders in them.... I keep all my Stampin Success Demo magazines in them and any tutorials I've found on the web and want to try out... trust me... there's loads.

These boxes can also be found at the Swedish store... and thankfully it comes in my fav colour - RED! As you can see I have all my ribbon in the brown box..and an adhesives, envelopes, blades & glitter in the other boxes. It's such an easy way to retrieve the items you need fast especially if your holding a craft/stamping party or stamping alone.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Happy Valentine's Day to all my friends ;}

So...here's the card I made for my hubby... I'll give it to him in the morning. My man has been a gem... He dropped off flowers on Friday for me... then we went out Friday night for a surprise dinner at the Merlot revolving restaurant. It was soooo nice. 2hrs of total adult bliss. Today we spent the day with my in-laws from Kingston... it was a lovely day. Lots of family fun.... and lots of dancing to MJ & Gaga... it's so cute seeing your 2 year old dance & jiggy!!!! ;}

I arrived home on Friday afternoon to these lovely flowers from my hubby... I LOVE daisies!!!!! it was a pre-valentine gift. In the evening we went out to a fancy restaurant downtown Ottawa. We saw all of the night time views of Ottawa in 2hrs....the steak dinner was very fancy & yummy !!!!

Did I tell you how much I love my hubby... he really has changed me.

So last night I sat down for the first time in a few weeks and decided to craft... actually... that's a little lie... I made a card last week for my friend Nicol on the fly!!... but I forgot to take a picture of it. If I'm lucky... I may be able to ask her to pull it outta the bin and take a photo of it. Only kidding?!@?. I'm sure she has it framed on her wall by now. So..back to last night.. I decided seems the hubby & I are going out on Friday for an early Valentine's day dinner... I would try and make my card for him in advance. Here's a sneak peak of the card.. I'll publish the final look tomorrow/Friday because I think my hubby has my blog on his google reader...so he might see it before I get to give it to him.

I used a PPA17 sketch seems lately my card designs are all starting to look the same ;} It's an old sketch but one I haven't tried before.

I decided a few weeks back that I was going to get my bedroom looking like the love-nest ;} it used to be. I always believe that your bedroom should be a haven.... but recently I haven't been feeling it. You see....last May I decided to re-paint the red on my one wall...(it wasn't red enough) and swap out a Queen bed for a King bed. I LOVE my bed!!!!!... and I love the new red... but I kept telling myself that I would only put pictures back on my wall once I put up my decor elements. Hmmm... well 8mths later I finally put up the decor elements. What took me so long??? well... I think I was over thinking it as usual... and wanted to wait until I had a bed frame/headboard before committing. Finally a few weeks back I knew I'd probably be giving a house tour...so I finally did it in a flash. I think it only took me 30mins in total. Not bad... Check out my finished product!

Ho-Hum!

I was planning to post/create something this week... but I've been feeling a little Ho-Hum for the last couple of days. I think it's related to the cold weather... the lack of social events and my long search for a job. On the job front I did get a 'bite' from the Government... but it was sadly snatched away this morning when I realised I needed to go for Second Language testing - I had to decline. Looks like I might have to go back to school to do a little French.. just enough to get past the exam. Urgh! I hate exams/tests.... they always make me feel like I'm not smart/good enough :{ I know, I know.. mind over matter.

Anyway.... I promise to post something by next Monday... seems I have been working on my daughters scrapbook album..I just haven't had time to take any photos. Crazy I know.!! I must be bummed out eh?.

A little bit of sparkle..

Just a quickie post. As I mentioned in my previous post... I've started working on my 2yr olds baby album. I wanted the opening page to display my daughter's full name seems we took some time deciding on it... (btw..I blurred out her surname just incase some weirdo wants to steal her name or something ;})...

How did I do it? Well...I inked some clear versamark ink over the SU! chipboard letters, I then sprinkled some heat 'n' stick powder over each letter... and then I used the heat emboss gun over them until they turned a little darker. I then quickly sprinkled some glitter (Old Olive, Pink & Dazzling Diamonds) over them and then tapped off the excess and then re-heated them until you see the glitter firm up. This was a messy job ;} so make sure you have wet wipes on hand seems the glitter can get everywhere!!! trust me!..I had glitter on me for days...

What a month!!!

So... I've been a slacker the last month on my blog... partly because I was busy with card classes and Christmas shopping...plus planning a 2yr old party on Jan 2nd!! Yes... she's now 2!!! I was also trying to re-focus my energy on scrapbooking. You see... I love to craft... and I originally signed up to SU! because I loved their products and I love the discounts :)... but I thought becoming a demo would help me scrapbook more. But.. I sadly got caught up in the excitement, meetings, forums, blogs...etc that I haven't actually touched my daughters baby album since I signed up Feb09 :{
So... I decided just before Christmas that I was going to re-focus my energy on scrapbooking. I love scrapbooks because there made by me for me.. and my other loves - family, photography & fun. It's been sooo nice diggin out all my scrapbook stuff. I must admit most of the stuff I use to scrapbook is not SU! because I brought alot of my supplies/papers/albums before I joined SU! so... I will try and show you sneak peaks of the album...but due to our new SU! agreement I can't tell you where I brought the items from. I must admit.. I have a loads of tools/papers/stickers etc so I probably wouldn't remember anyway. Especially my sticker albums...ekkkk!!!! Hello! My name is Susan and I am a stickeraholic and I've been this way since I was 8... hehehe... I'll have to take a photo of all my sticker albums and my organising tips for those too ;} Hmm... Did I tell you about the two whole nights I spent organising my stickers while my hubby was outta town...ahh!! bliss! Boy, oh boy!.. I had fun. My hubby thinks it's funny seems I've very hostile & frugal about using my stickers on cards or pages. It's normally the last thing I commit to on a page. I'm seeing a therapist for it!!! hehhe.. trust me..

Anyway... I'll try and post a few times a month...but for now.. here's what Santa (or should I say my mum) got me for Christmas. I think my little gal is just as happy as me ;}

Sadly this organisation shelf has to be painted dark brown seems it only comes in white and it'll stick out like a sore thumb in my family room. Once it's up I'll post new photos along with some organisation updates/finds.

Crazy Christmas Crafts!

Wow!! what a crazy few weeks I've had.... I've been really busy prepping for a 2-day craft fair I did yesterday & today....plus I've done 2 classes. I have one final class tomorrow night for 7 people... so I've got to get my head down tonight and finish the prep. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow seems it's where I get the stamping and the glitter out!!!! Check out my display of some of the cards I've done over the last few weeks. After tomorrow night I will be sending them out to family & friends... I've got a few more photos to post... but for now I'll keep you guessing.

Just on a holiday giving note... my friend Jo-Ann challenged people to make a get well soon card for this little girl in the US who has brain cancer. I don't know what it is... maybe it's because I'm a mum now... but I teared up right away. So.. I challenge you...to make a card and send it to this little girl called Kate! Besides... don't you just love opening mail that is not a bill ;P

I love Autumn... it's one of my favourite times of the year.... Christmas is my absolute favourite time (duh!) but I would say Autumn comes in a close second place. I love the changing of the leaves... I love the rich colours everywhere... and for some reason it's the start of my tea drinking. Yup! I'm the type of Brit that only drinks tea in the autumn/winter... I don't drink it in the summer or spring. Along with a good cup of Yorkshire Tea is a Walkers piece of shortbread.... Yum! Yum! Can you tell I'm sitting here typing my blog out with a tea & shortbread. Hehehe...

Anyway... back to cards...last week I was very busy socially...I did manage to do a few creative things... but I can't post them yet seems I have to take photos of them. I did however take lots of photos of my little one frolicking in the leaves at my parents house...she's pretty cute eh?. The funny thing is, as you can see from one of the photos.. she doesn't like touching grass, gravel or leaves ;} I hear it's a common kid thing... Did anyone else experience this??? Please, please leave me a comment...

Great tip - lose those frays!

Just a quick post... I was sent this tip and thought I would share it to my friends ;} seems it was a common complaint I had.

Since moving to SU! paper/cardstock I found some cardstock would fray all the time when I used my regular paper trimmer :{. Firstly I thought it was the blade...but after a few replacements realised it was the cardstock. The Whisper White was the worse seems it's soooo soft!! So... I found I would always have to sand the paper with my sandblocks to make the cut clean. Anyway this video was just recently posted by a fellow SU demonstrator Tanya. What a great idea!!! Try it out!

That is truely how I feel... I see so many cards designs I like...but I never seem to have the time to make them. Where is my stamping time going too? I always thought I would be able to stamp while the babe was in bed for her naps... but that hasn't worked out ;} I spend more time surfing the www to see what everyone is doing. Anyway.. this week my plan is to put together some stamping classes, so that my friends can sign up and come and hang out and make a few cards. Who's in?

Oh! and here's a sneak peak of a card I have made for a friend who's due any week now. Infact.. if you'd have seen her back in July you would of thought she had only a month to go back then ;} She's one of those lucky gals who is very slender and 'popped' as soon as she was pregnant. Anyway... this weekend I'm heading down to Kingston to hang out with her and get our feet pampered. I remember when I was pregnant... I loved getting my feet massaged!!!! It'll be just in time for footie/soccer season. Hopefully my friend doesn't see this on FB... I doubt it... seems she's not on FB very often ;}

Did you notice that I decorated the envelope aswell.... pretty eh?

Sorry I've been a little out of the blogging for a while... I've been trying to create more than publish... it is very easy to get so lost in the blogging world. Infact I have signed up to some of my fav blogs and so far I'm over 1000 to read...ek!

What have I been doing? Well...last week I attended my uplines Shoebox Swap.. plus a participated in a local Christmas Mini Swap. I've taken some photos and I will post some of my favourites. In the meantime... here's one I did earlier :)

I used the Petal Pizzazz set...Can you see i even prettied up the envelope :} I used the baby wipe technique...it's a pretty cool technique and one I use often. It blends all the colours together on one stamp...this means it'll never be the same. The DSPaper is from an old pack I was given as a reward at a Su evening.... I couldn't resist it seems I like anything with polka dots ;}

Time flys when your having fun!

So last week I mentioned on FB & on my blog that I had my 1st Stampin Up! Open House on last Thursday... I was very nervous to host one seems I'm terrible/awkward with the sales part. Plus I always seem to question whether my friends would like my cards I was going to get them to make, seems everyone has there own personal style....even with card-making.
I like simple & sparkly....but some people like loads of layers or lots of different patterns... it is truly a personal thing. Anyway... I've been busy the last few weeks 'cramming', to get as many cards done as possible. Finally the day came & went..so fast! I was feeling excitement & a little nervous all at the same time. I wasn't as organised as I normally am... my little gal has been having some teething problems lately so the days that I would normally prepped.. I couldn't :{. Aww!! Thankfully I had my crafty friend Melissa G offer her services... which came in very handy on the night. She helped with the prep & even helped people with any questions!! What a gal! Thanks Melissa!!! I think the evening was a success... everyone made & took home 4 cards (2 birthday & 2 christmas)... And from the sounds of it.. everyone had a good time. If your worried about being pressured into the sales side of things... don't! I have friends who can testify that is soooo not me. I truly took this up seems I needed an outlet & reason to get my friends to craft with me. This is sooo it! I'm hoping to get small groups of friends together to craft once a month... just to get out of the house. So.. if you want to craft... contact me & we'll arrange something. Even if it's just you & me...perfect!!!

I've got so many things to post this week, I've been busy the last few days getting creative for my Open House next week. I'm a little nervous seems I've never done a Open House before infact I haven't done anything to promote SU! stuff since I signed up in Feb09. Hmm...I suppose you could call my blog an active sales forum... but I just set it up so I could spam my friends across the globe my crafty creations :). The only sales I've made are from 3 people who love the product just as much as I do :)

So.. this leads me onto my guest blogger.... My friend Jen & I got together last week & decided to make a few cards in prep for my open house... Jen just sent me this photos of her finished product. It's cool to see how she finished them...seems mine has a 'tad' more glitter applied ;} Jen's all about the paper & the pretty... whereas' I need glitter, jewels & ribbons :} to make it pretty ;}

Some of my creations..

So... in my madness... I have had some fun creating cards over the last few weeks...Here's what I came up with..

This card was made for a Card Swap... but I decided I didn't like it enough to send it out to other SU! demonstrators. It's actually quite intimidating sometimes.. because this SU! thing is new to me and there are tons & I mean tons of ladies out there that are extremely talented.

This one above was again... another attempt at a card swap.. Liked the design but I was worried it was too simple ;} I like simple!

This was my final submission for the Bermuda Bay colour Swap. I did a baby wipe technique which turned out beautiful with all the new In Colours!

Lastly this little guy was made at my dear friend Jo-Ann's house, I was around last week for a stamp & yap and seems I needed to make a Christmas Swap card for my upline's demo night this is what I handed in. It uses a new stamp from the new Holiday Mini catty (contact me if you want a catty) I also used the new shimmer paint..you only need a little... and once again.. a sprinkle of glitter to finish it off 'Sue Style'.

Ok.. going to get off the Mac... and hit my craft table again. I have another swap deadline in a few weeks & I also have to plan my Open House event.... ek!!!! nervous....

Decor Elements - I Just Love Them!!!

Wow! I have been so busy these last few days it's unbelievable. My hubby left for 4 days on business so my hands & schedule have been full. Recently I find there is not enough hours in the day for me to do all the FUN things I want to do :}... the last 2 nights I have not gone to bed before 2.30!! crazy - especially when I have to get up in the morning ;{ urgh!!
Anyway... a few weeks back I embarked on a mission... a mission to use Stampin Up's new Decor Elements for Eryn's room. I had never been 100% happy with Eryn's room seems I dreamed of white paneling around the room, chair rail & a neutral colour on the walls...and maybe put some polka dots on the wall. In the end I was pregnant so I couldn't do alot of the jobs myself so my poor hubby wanted to keep it simple. So.. we painted it Artichoke green and to finish it off I asked my dad to paint some 'whimsical' frogs & dragonflies on the one wall.

So... a few months back I decided I was going to re-do Eryn's room.... I wanted it to have a little bit of 'girlie touch'...and I just fell in love with the simple spots decals in the catty. So... a couple of weeks ago I taped, painted & cleaned her room.. then I started on applying the decals. The instructions say you should plan where your putting the decals...so I as you can see... I did.

Then I started... I was so excited after applying my first one... I couldn't stop. Anyway.. I'm really satisfied with the final outcome. The photos aren't the best... but I was prompted by my friend J to get my bum in gear & post it to my blog. She knows I always over think things.. I want everything to be perfect..Ack! this room is perfect now. I smile every time I walk in her room.

I know, I know... this is very chic & not kiddy-like...but I figured Eryn can choose her own next time.. plus these decals are really easy to take off when she decides what she likes.... she'll have tons of choices. I am alive...I've just been busy painting & decorating my daughters room, visiting the USA & applying for a job ;}....
I'll post some pictures soon of Eryn's room seems I used SU's Decor Elements. Wow!! I love them!!! I want more all over the house... so simple to put up... and it looks fabulous. She has a cute little girls room...

Crazy Weekend!!!

So this weekend was just crazy..!!!! I was triple booked on Saturday, then double booked Sunday. I suppose the saying that there is no rest for the 'wicked' means I must be wicked ;). Anyway... I sadly didn't attend a house-warming party of a friend of mine :{ seems we got in late from an afternoon wedding shower. The wedding shower was fun & I got to mingle with some friends I haven't seen in a long time so the banter was flowing nicely. Anyhow.. I used my card making skills to craft out this little number...it's surprising what I can do when I have a time constraint. I picked flowers/blossoms seems everyone has flowers at a wedding..right? Then I choose brown & pink seems I checked the couples web-site & noticed it was in those colours. I felt pretty proud with myself when we turned up for the BBQ & found brown & pink balloons everywhere ;}

Last night I realised I was over-thinking things and decided to give up trying to make the card/design vertical. I think that was making me re-do the card 3 times. Anyway... here's a little tease.... I'll post more once I've popped them in the post to Alberta. 2 more days to get them in the mail.

So... as promised I decided to challenge myself weekly using the Pretty Pals Blog. This weeks challenge was to use three SU! colours... Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay & Chocolate Chip. This was going to be easy seems I already had the cardstock on my craft table... :)Ok...so I decided to use a well earned hostess stamp... and seems my birthday stash has run very low I decided to replenish... I'm really happy with this design seems I used the Stampa-Ma-Jig tool... to line up the cupcakes... then I used the 'new' In Colours markers to stamp on the cupcake... plus I used the HodgePodge Hardware I just recently purchased...seems I like 'bling'. Anyway... I can offically go to bed now seems I'm chuffed I met my SU! goal for the week. I even decided to decorate inside the card.. it gives it a real nice finish.
**NEWSFLASH**
DOH!!! Can you believe it... because of the Canadian Civic Holiday I was all messed up... the submission was noon today - Tuesday! Ha! I thought today was Monday seems the hubby was at work... Doh! maybe next time...

BTW... I'm really impressed that I'm getting regular blog traffic... it's nice to see ;} Hopefully this will keep my spirits up this week... and you'll see more from me in the next few days.

Hmm.. I think I need to work on a Wedding Shower card now seems I'm going to a 'do' on Saturday.....

Just a quick post... to show you a cute/unique card made by my hubby a few weeks back. He made it the night before my birthday (July 23rd)... I was very surprised at his card making skills... he thinks I should take some tips from him now!!?!?hehehehe. I was quite impressed with this card seems my hubby made the card 3D... you can't really see it from the photo.

Over the last few years he's enjoyed making me cards. Firstly cause I know it's because he's cheap & hates paying the Hallmark prices :).... then secondly because he knows I love getting them... I think it has more thought & effort involved..so means alot to me.

Across Canada Card Share...Melon Mambo

So... I've been slaving away the last few nights working on an across Canada Stampin Up! New In Colours Card Share. Anyway I decided to be a little ambitious... so... I entered for 2 spots which in turn meant I needed to create 2 card fronts - one in Melon Mambo & the other in Bermuda Bay - in total 62 card fronts!!!!!.

You would think this would be easy....but ...as some of you know... I over think things :)... I always want to show simple/sleek cards/designs.. but not too simple. Anyway... I've been a machine the last few nights... Here is the photo of my melon mambo cards all 31 cards completed!!!..

A Challenge...a new goal!!

Hi,

So today I came across Mary Fish's new Pretty Pals Paper Art blog... Once I browsed the blog I decided to jump in with both feet and set myself a goal. Each week they will post a challenge using only SU products. I have decided I need to get off my bum and start whipping out designs, otherwise I over think things & just play!! So... you heard it here first... I will officially be doing these challenges. Why don't you challenge yourself... come on...join me!!!

I found this website while cruising my favourite ladies site (Mary Fish)....and thought it was a great thing to share...Cardstock Colour Swatch This is a great way to check which cardstock works well with others quickly... looks like my new printer I got for my birthday will be busy tonight ;}

I love this wedding idea......
I wish I'd done something like this....it's so me. We did something similar at our wedding....I remember when we were introduced as husband & wife and headed to the head table we walked to Darth Vader's Imperial March ;} my hubby is such a geek... But cute!!! Then I made the wedding party dance to the song..."Now that we found Love" by Heavy D & The Boyz..I wish we'd filmed that....the day just flew by.... Would you believe it... this December we have been married 4yrs... together 8!!! Crazy Love!

Anyway... just thought I'd share that random blog-fart! :}

Happy Fathers Day!!

HI All,

This posting is a little late... but the cards were made & delivered on time ;} and that's what counts.

So...this year I decided to challenge myself to make a masculine Fathers Day card.....plus.. seems I'm new at this SU! thingy I figured I would try and put something together. Well... the night rolls on...and I'm 'playing & playing' but nothing has come to mind yet..it was extremely hard especially seems I don't own any fathers day/'manly 'stamps. So I finally gave in... and copied a design from one of my fav SU! ladies - Mary Fish! (did I tell you she emailed me last week after I made a comment on her blog) what a sweetie!!! I was so happy!!...my hubby thought it was funny that I was so excited after getting a simple email reply back...she's a blog-star!!!!! Hello????

Anyway... back to the cards.....This is the same design as Mary's I just changed the colours to my fav colour - riding hood red! (sadly now retired :{) I made this for my husband who is a super fab dad... I love seeing him play with our little gal...and she is truely a daddy's girl.

This 2nd card was made for my dad... I love Mary's idea of decorating the inside aswell....so I did. You probably can't see from the photo but I added some dd glitter and also come crystal effects to the centre of the circle.

Kim Werner Colour Inspiration #54

So... I finally was able to whip together this little design/card tonight..... seems I really wanted to enter another Kim Werner Colour challenge. I've had the intentions to do one... but just not the time. Between looking after the babe, housework ;{ and appts I've not been able to sit in my crafting spot.

Anyway... here's my entry... the colours are teal, sky blue, pumpkin, green galore & white.... the glitter on the circles is orange...even though it looks a little red from the lighting. I suppose I should of played around with it before I uploaded the photo... but I wanted to submit before the deadline. I was cutting it close to the wire. My inspiration was from the actual photo that was submitted. I love spots...so I tried to mimic the cool spots. I was debating between orange or dd glitter...seems I always need to add bling. Hmm... maybe dd would of been easier to see better.

I'll blog more later...

Just a quick post...So I made this birthday card a few weeks back on the fly!!!.... I think it turned out ok. I love the colours...Aqua & Real Red. It took me a few trys to make the cute bow..but I finally got it right. Not sure if you can see it...but each cherry has a glazed 3D look too it... I used the Stampin Up's Crystal Effects product....let it dry and boom....done!. If you want to learn how to make cards like this..contact me ;}

Hello again...

Just catching up on my blogging from the weekend... Wow! what a crazy weekend. I was up till the wee hours on Friday finishing off my 40 boxes for the Wow Swap on the Saturday. I finally made it to bed at 2.30am... thanks to my hubby, Shannon & Jen for their help!! I couldn't of done it without you :). Then I spent the whole day at the Stampin Girls convention in Ottawa getting overwhelmed by all the great demonstrations/techniques I wanna learn..so much to learn so little time to play. Hopefully I'll be able to play soon.. once I get up and running and then I'll be posting classes & workshops events. Mainly aimed at Christmas & Birthdays seems there my favourite holidays/events.

Yes... I'm doing alot of boxes.... this is madness... but I've done 6 full boxes which is infact 12 seems there is a top & bottom to the box. Lots & lots of paper folding..33 to go!!! Anyway... I was just taking a break from folding... and figured I would update my blog. It's sooo hard there are sooo many good blogs out there that it's distracting to keep focused....

Oh!! I will be trying to put something together for Kim's Colour Challenge.... so watch this space!!! Why don't you try it.... it's fun!!

Boxes, Boxes Boxes... I'm going Box Crazy :}

I finally got my SU delivery in late yesterday :} I've only unpacked it so far... I haven't managed to get my 40 boxes done for the swap yet. But it should be easy once I get going... besides... I like working to deadlines :} it keeps me on my toes. heheh. I know, I know.. I've been going a little box crazy lately.... but it's so much fun. Plus I'm tweaking an idea I had for my WoW Swap which is next weekend!!! ek!!

Anyway... Last week I posted the original 3x3 box I made which was cut & scored from instructions...after making this sample I realised I couldn't fit a cute bellyband around it seems my paper would need to be more than 12x12...ek! So back to the drawing board I went and changed a few dimensions so the box was a smidgen bit smaller :} And Voila!!!
Below is a 2.5 x 2.5. I'm still not happy with it. One thing I did learn is that you can't use the textured cardstock seems it's not sturdy enough for these kind of paper torture ;}

So this box below was made using the Big Shot Die Cut Box XL... I 'played' with it when i made a visit to my friend's Studio. Love it...!!!!! I think this template is the next on my wish list. It would be great for wedding favours, baby showers, etc. Cute huh?

And finally... I also played with the new matchbox Die cut for the Big Shot. I used the new Walk in the Park DSPaper...isn't it lovely. I'll have to buy some choccies to decorate and place inside to show off it's true beauty/potential.

Ok... that's it for now... gotta go get the babe!! and sort thru my new shipment... Christmas is here!!

So here's my little box of delights that I've been working on... I found out how to make these on KWerners Site... The funny thing is ... I had been working on another box for ages....and then this one came to the rescue. I thinking of using it for my WOW Swap at the end of the month... different DSP's & colours. Hmm... Now I just need to churn out another 39boxes !!!!

So I love photography.....it's one of my passions. I love taking close ups of people, objects & simple things. This weekend my DH gave me a lovely bunch of flowers for Mums Day!... my fav kind. Hey there,

So... I've been a little busy actually creating some stuff. I've decided that I work well/better when I have a deadline to meet. Otherwise I just slack off ;} Anyway... with Mothers Day & a WOW swap that I have offered to participate in...I've been busy creating creations. I haven't finalised on what I'm doing for the WOW swap yet....but I'm "playing" at the moment.

Here's a purse design that I found on the web.. I think it was from Scorepal's website... I don't have a scorepal... but I'm seriously considering it. I'm sure it would make these projects easier.

The second picture is my mothers days card for my mum.... Hopefully she likes it..

Busy weekend...

So... I'm very proud of myself for 2 things this weekend, firstly I went and did my first demo this past weekend for a fellow SU demonstrators fundraiser " Crop for the Cure". What a day!! How many scrapbookers can you fit in a room? I kept telling the ladies that no matter how much table space they give you it's never enough...plus you always briny way too much...just incase ;} Anyway.....I met some wonderful ladies all willing to guide me & most importantly help me enjoy my SU! experience. It seems I'm all about the pretty...and not worried about my costs...ek!! I suppose I'd better work on that. I was a little nervous....but I had a good turnout... I had 6 people sign up and take my little demo/class...seems it was a scrapbooking event I based my class on creating 2 pages using the Simply Scrappin Kit 'Best Ever'. I LOVE these kits seems they give you enough paper & loads of stickers to complete a event. I've always found I've never had enough accent stickers for my scrapbook pages :} That's just me though... People who know me...know I love glitter & stickers....and I suppose fancy papers comes in a close 3rd place. Anyhow... below is my pages... I based the theme on birthdays seems everyone has a birthday.....plus my little gal turned 1 a few months back so I wanted to start scrapbooking that....infact I've only done her first birthday....now I'm trying to work on my baby shower onwards.... heheeheh.. a little behind.

Secondly... I'm proud of myself for doing the KWerner's challenge last week. It seems it's created a little bit of traffic on my blog....even from my good ole homeland UK!!!... until then I know I only had one viewer (J) ;} Now I seem to have people popping by to see my creations...Hmm... now the pressure is on... it's quite exciting really. I know I cruise the entries aswell... Anyhow... Gotta go and get the babe... she's awoken from her beauty sleep...and if she's left too long she's not very beautiful ;} Awckkk!!! Schhhh!!! Nooooo... she is cute....eh? I'll post a new piccie soon ;}.

Ok... So a friend of mine asked me when I was going to start posting my card creations... and I realised I'm a little bit shy ;} no really..I am. Plus I just felt so overwhelmed with all the info/designs/cards out there. Anyway... a lovely new friend I met recently.... recommended doing the challenges..
